He was able to identify the problem and his confidence was very reassuring and very kind.He has just been to fix what, to me, seemed a major problem. I contacted Malcolm to see if he could possibly have a look at my laptop and even re install my operating system as had been suggested by another computer repairer. He asked me some details and talked me through effecting a repair by downloading a malware removal tool. Success, all is working and fully functional again. Thank you so much for your help. Comment:My computer would not boot up properly and only allowed me a restricted safe mode.After finding out my computer maintenance company had gone down the tubes, Malcolm talked me through the necessary steps to take to protect my most important files before restoring factory settings, if a repair couldnt be done.Although I have lost some media files, I have retained my critical files and will now only download essential stuff - none of this wouldnt that be nice to have stuff.I would recommend Malcolm to anyone who needs PC help, in understandable language.

Comment:This is what I have been looking for - I am not computer illiterate, but regularly hit snags that I cant solve - a computer course or books or the computer shop are not suitable solutions. Malcolm, sitting beside me for an hour or so has resolved all my issues and increased my confidence and working knowledge of the near necessary for life computer.I intend to have regular tutorials in the future to answer all the questions I have not been afraid to ask - but had no-one suitable.
